It’s believed that having a red bull before taking a test will help your brain wake up and focus better on your work. But this isn’t true. Rather, it causes damage to your brain and gives your body a false need for those higher dopamine levels. But that can be rectified. There are ways to boost your focus and concentration naturally. Here are the herbs and essential oil that you can use before taking a test or tackling a huge work project. These will help you boost your focus and concentration in a holistic way. 

          Peppermint (Mentha piperita) is a perennial herb that is full of medicinal benefits. It is an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiphlogistic, antipruitic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, astringent, carminitive, cephalic, cholagogue, corial, emmenagogoue, expectorant, febrifuge, hepatic, nervine, stomachic, sudorific, vasoconstrictor, and vermifuge. 

           It is used for acne, skin care, ringworm, dermatitis, asthma, nbronchitis, colic, cramps, colds, flu, fevers, fainting, neuralgia, muscular pain, palpitations, halitosis, sinusitis, spasmodic cough, dyspepsia, flatulence, nausea, headache, mental fatigue, migraine, nervous stress, vertigo, digestive problems, pain relief, bloating, and infections. 

            Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is a very aromatic herb that has a large number of medicinal benefits. It is an analgesic, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antirhematic, antiseptic, antismaspmodic, aphrodisiac, astringent, carminitive, cephalic, cholagogue, choleretic, cicatrisant, cordial, cytophylactic, diaphoretic, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, fungicidal, hepatic, hypertensive, nervine, parsiticide, restorative, rubefacient, stimulant, stomachic, sudorific, tonic, and vulnerary. 

           It is used for acne, arteriosclerosis, asthma, colitis, dandruff, dermatitis, dyspepsia, dysmenorrhoea, debility, eczema, greasy hair, insect repellent, promotes hair growth, regulates seborrhea, scabies, stimulates scalp, lice, varicose veins, fluid retention, gout, muscular pain, palipitations, poor circulation, rheumatism, whooping cough, hepatic disorders, hypercholseteroloaemia, jaundice, leucorrhoea, infections, headaches, hypotension, neuralgia, mental fatigue, nervous exhaustion, and other stress-related disorders, uplifting, and restorative.

               Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is an amazing herb. It is an anticonvulsive, antidepressant, antimicrobial, antiheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antitoxic, carmiitivae, cholagogue, choleretic, cicatrisant, cordial, cytophylactic, deodorant, diuretic, emmenagogue, hypotensive, insecticide, nervine, parasticide, rubefacient, sedative, stimulant, sudorific, tonic, vermifuge, and vulnerary. 

            It is used for abscess, acne, allergies, athlete’s foot, boils, bruises, burns, dandruff, dermatitis, earache, eczema, inflammations, insect bites and stings, insect repellant, lice, psoriasis, ringworm, scabies, sores, spots, all skin types, sun burns, wounds, lumbago, muscular aches and pains, rheumatism, sprains, asthma, bronchitis, catarrh, halitosis, laryngitis, throat infections, whooping cough, abdominal cramps, colic, dyspepsia, flatulence, nausea, cystitis, dysmenorrhea, leucorrhoea, flu, depression, headache, hypertension, insomnia, migraine, nervous tension, and stress-relatated conditions, PMT, sciatica, shock, and vertigo.

            Cedarwood (Cedrus altantica) is antieptic, antiputrescent, antiseborrheic, aprhodisiac, astringent, diuretic, expectorant, funcidal, mucolytic, sedative, stimulant, and tonic. 

              It is used for acne, dandruff, dermatitis, eczema, fungal infections, greasy skin, hair loss, skin eruptions, ulcers, arthritis, rheumatism, bronchitis, catarrh, congestion, coughs, cystitis, leucorrhoea, pruritis, nervous tension, and stress-related condidtions. 

               These are herbs and essential oils that are very beneficial to your brain’s focus and concentration. I like to make my own blends of essential oils that I can use right before I take a test or start a big project. Even researching is a great time to use these oils. Here are some of the blends that I use: 

                  Focus: 

              2 drops Peppermint

              2 drops Sweet Orange

              2 drops Frankincense

              2 drops Lime

             10 mL roller bottle

            Fractionated Coconut Oil

            (Rub onto your temples, the insides of your wrists, and your elbows.) 

             Intelligence Booster: 

           2 drops Frankincense, 

           3 drops Peppermint

           3 drops Rosemary

          10 mL roller bottle

           Fractionated Cocnut Oil

         (Rub onto your temples, the insides of your wrists, and your elbows.)
