Healthy Pregnancy

This week we’re going to talk about some of the most amazing superheroes on the planet. Mothers. I have friends who are pregnant right now, and I was thinking of them when I decided to do this post. I know that there are a lot of women who stuggle with a difficult pregnancy, while others don’t have as much trouble. Today, difficult or not, we’re going to talk about how to make your pregnancy goes as smooth as possible, and that you and your baby are healthy and happy. I am not a doctor or dietician, so none of this is meant to be taken without talking to your doctor. That said, let’s jump into it!

          Nutrition:

You want to eat as much high-quality foods as you can. This will ensure your health, and your baby’s health. After all, when you’re pregnant, you’re body is creating a perfect little being inside of you. You want to make sure that you feel your body as best as you can so that your body isn’t strained, and your child is born healthy.

Try Grass-Fed Meat so that you don’t get any added hormones that could harm you or your baby, and eat Wild-Caught Fish so that you’re not consuming any poisons or toxins that might have gotten into the fish if it was caught locally. Seaweed will have a lot of the necessary minerals for you. Coconut Oil and Organic Liver will also be important for your body.

Eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables. Then aside from all the important nutrients that will help your body, you’ll also get plenty of necessary vitamins. Vitamins C & D are very important for pregnancy. Also look into Kefir, soaked and dehydrated nuts and seeds (to get rid of the phytic acid inside of them) Fermented Foods (which are high in Probiotics and Prebiotics, again, important for pregnancy), and perhaps even try Roasted Dandelion Root instead of Coffee in the mornings. It tastes similar, but doesn’t have the caffeine, and also provides further nutrients to your body while pregnant.

           Fitness:

Now, I don’t have a lot to say about fitness today. When you’re pregnant, you want to stay on top of your fitness training but rather than building muscle and pushing your body farther, you want to maintain fitness levels. Your body is already under a lot of stress during pregnancy. Adding to it by trying to lift heavier things and push harder during workouts won’t do you any favors and could possibly harm you.

          Essential Oils:

For Nausea; Use Lemon Essential Oil. Perhaps even make an inhaler that you can pull out and just breathe in the oil.

For Headaches, Try using Peppermint Essential Oil. Dilute it really well, to one percent essential oil, then massage it gently on your forehead, specifically over the points where your head hurts.

For Mood-Boosting; try Orange and Vanilla. This blend is also safe for children, so they can breathe it or have it on them. Because orange is a citrus oil, remember not to put it on before going into the sun, or you risk having a bad burn enhanced by the properties of the citrus oil.

For Sleep; try Roma Chamomile, Lavender, and Vetiver. You could make this a blend and rub it on your stomach and neck, or you could put it in a diffuser and have the blend blowing in your room. Or both. Just don’t do too much, or you could develop sensitivities to the essential oils.

The very best oils for pregnancy would be; Lavender, Peppermint, Geranium, Lemon, Clary Sage, Orange and Vanilla.

          Herbs:

Alfalfa, Ginger, Nettle, and Red Raspberry are some of the very best herbs for pregnant women. Try using them in your food, or make teas. They are powerful and really good for women. Try them and see how you feel!

That’s this week’s post, and I hope that you find this information to be helpful. Have a wonderful week, and I’ll see you again next week. God bless you!
